Alex’s mum explains how attending a funded spinal injury rehab programme at The Rehab Physio has made a difference to her life:
“As a teenager, the impact of not being able to walk on Alex’s mental health was huge so we had much more than the injuries themselves to deal with. The relationship that she’s been able to build with the young team at The Rehab Physio over a 4-week period has given her the motivation to give 100% during her training sessions. She’s now progressed to being able to walk on crutches, using just one around the house. She’s more confident and is back at school which is great for her general mental well-being.
We can’t thank the team at The Rehab Physio enough for the care and compassion that they’ve shown to Alex during her rehab, none of which would be possible without the financial support of The Rooprai Spinal Trust and Fletchers.”
Alex’s treatment is ongoing, with a visit to The Rehab Physio every two weeks with the help of funding. Her prognosis is looking good and she’s on track to keep on improving her mobility, strength and balance.
This is the difference that access to the right treatment can make for our patients. Join us at our charity football match or donate to our Just Giving page to give more people like Alex access to appropriate rehabilitation and the opportunity to achieve the best outcomes.
